Review: The Great Outdoors

While there are all kinds of great finds in Gainesville the surrounding towns have lots of hidden treasures to offer as well.
Last week we moseyed out of Gainesville for our end of year staff luncheon and headed to High Springs – about 25 miles northwest – to The Great Outdoors Restaurant on Main Street.
Well worth the drive if you’re coming from Gainesville because the food is good, the menu is long and the venue unfolds before you with ample seating inside and fun, al fresco dining and entertainment options outside at their Tailgator Bar.

Here’s my lunch. (Sorry, this review is a little light as this was more of a social occasion than a savory one, but hopefully the photos will suffice).

A crock of French Onion soup – cheesy and full of onions.

This is by far one of my favorite places to go and feel like I am back in the North Carolina mountains! Incredible food, music, and staff – I would suggest this place to anyone!
